Learning to play the piano is an essential skill that increases a child’s confidence and their ability to concentrate and maintain focus. It also enables them to practice exercising patience and discipline.
At Appleton, our learners are taught using guides such as ‘John Thompsons’ Modern Piano Course’ from the basic part 1 and 2 courses with piano pieces such as ten little Indians, three blind mice, old MacDonald amongst other pieces to moderate their learning.
After completing the part 1 and 2 coursework, the learners advance to Grade 1, 2 and 3 progressively. Here, they learn pieces such as air by Mozart, silent night, Christmas carols and many others. They also focus on finger drills to better their learning.
